‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ Board Game Debuts Next Spring

Be careful where you move your piece in this game.

Trick or Treat Studios has worked up Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Game for release March 31, 2023.

The board game–available now for pre-order for $59.95–was designed by Scott Rogers, with illustrations by Terry Wolfinger. The game–for one to four players–is recommended for those 14 and older.

In the cooperative game, the players’ van has run out of gas, leaving them stranded and at the mercy of the Slaughter family. Players must pluck tokens from a gruesome bag to take actions, but pulling out too many may anger the Slaughters. Always a bad idea.

The original 1974 The Texas Chain Saw Massacre–directed by Tobe Hooper from a screenplay he wrote with Kim Henkel–follows a group of friends who fall victim to a family of cannibals while on their way to visit an old homestead.

The film–starring Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Partain, Jim Siedow, Edwin Neal and Gunnar Hansen–earned $30 million at the domestic box office on a budget of between $80,000 and $140,000–and became a horror classic.
