by Thomas Tuna

This sounds like the camping trip from Hell.

The Swallow–described as a survival thriller–is the next project from genre filmmakers Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer (Pet Sematary), according to a report on Deadline.

The new pic–written and directed by the duo–stars Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things), with more cast members expected to be named soon. The film reportedly will start shooting sometime this summer.

Architect will handle worldwide sales ahead of the European Film Market. Producers include James Harris, Mark Lane and John Finemore.

In The Swallow, Ziggy (Van Dien) goes on a camping trip to a remote forest with four friends. Unfortunately, the group trespasses in an off-limits area and “awakens an uncanny terror–and a ravenous hunger from within the Earth.”

Before long, the ground “is trying to swallow anything and anyone it touches–and Ziggy and her friends have nowhere to run. And every step they take could be their last.”
