Ready or not, he’s coming back.

The Return of Swamp Thing–the more lighthearted sequel to the 1982 film–is getting the 4K Ultra HD treatment from Lightyear Entertainment and will be released Feb. 7, 2023.

The 1989 sequel–based on the DC Comics swamp creature–has been restored in 4K from the original with Dolby Vision HDR and original 2.0 and 5.1 stereo audio.

The restoration includes such special features as an audio commentary from director Jim Wynorski, interviews with composer Chuck Cirino and producer Michael Uslan and promotional videos.

The Return of Swamp Thing–helmed by Wynorski from a screenplay by Neil Cuthbert–stars Dick Durock and Louis Jordan, reprising their roles as Swamp Thing and Anton Arcane, respectively–along with Sarah Douglas and Heather Locklear.

The film–which boasts a main title montage of comic book covers set to the Creedence Clearwater Revival hit Born on the Bayou–received lukewarm reviews and earned less than $300,000 on a $3-million budget.
