What exactly does a demon sound like?
The Pope’s Exorcist–a supernatural thriller from Screen Gems–this week continued to flesh out its cast, adding Ralph Ineson (The Witch) to provide the voice for the demon in the horror pic, according to a report on Collider.
Ineson will join Oscar winner Russell Crowe, Alex Essoe, Daniel Zovatto, Franco Nero, Laurel Marsden, Cornell S. John and Peter DeSouza-Feighoney in the movie based on the real-life exploits of Fr. Gabriele Amorth.
The film–slated to hit the big screen Apr. 7–is directed by Julius Avery from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos (with revisions and additions by Chuck MacLean).
The flick follows the tribulations of Fr. Amorth (Crowe), the renowned Italian priest who reportedly performed more than 100,000 exorcisms for the Vatican.
The feature draws on the priest’s bestselling memoirs–An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories–to bring the demon-battling terrors to cinematic life.
