The Pope’s Exorcist–the recently released Sony Pictures horror entry–gets a Blu-ray and DVD version tomorrow, June 13, and a clip has arrived–courtesy of Screen Rant–to herald the home release. Check it out on this page.
The horror pic–already in the planning stages for a sequel–is directed by Julius Avery from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos, and stars Oscar winner Russell Crowe as Fr. Gabriele Amorth, the real-life Italian priest who reportedly performed more than 100,000 exorcisms for the Vatican.
In the feature, Fr. Amorth investigates “the possession of a child, and uncovers a conspiracy the Vatican has tried to keep secret,” according to the synopsis.
The rest of the cast includes Franco Nero, Laurel Marsden, Cornell S. John, Peter DeSouza-Feighoney, Alex Essoe, Daniel Zovatto and Ralph Ineson as the voice of the demon.
