Belly up to the bar.
Lure–a new horror feature from Universal Pictures and Platinum Dunes–is on the drawing board, according to a report on Deadline.
The film–directed by Corin Hardy (The Nun) from a screenplay by Chris Bernier (Halloween Ends)–is based on the haunting of King’s Tavern, said to be the most haunted building in Mississippi. In fact, one of the resident ghosts is believed to be the murdered mistress of one of the bar’s original owners.
Michael Bay and Brad Fuller will produce the film, and Matt Reilly will oversee the project for Universal. Cameron Fuller will serve as executive producer.
Hardy’s debut feature–2015’s The Hallow–bowed at Sundance, and went on to win Best Horror Film at the Empire Film Awards and Best Feature at Fantastic Fest. His second film–The Nun–hit theaters in 2018 and became the highest-grossing film of The Conjuring franchise with $366 million at the worldwide box office.
