‘The Munsters’ Cast Continues To Grow–Zombo Makes His Return

by Thomas Tuna

Rob Zombie is really digging deep into the crypt this time.

The filmmaker behind the feature film reboot of The Munsters TV series this week announced the addition of a very minor character from the ’60s show to his upcoming film–Zombo (really). Check out the Instagram post–courtesy of slashfilm.com–for the official introduction.

Zombo–played by veteran comic Louis Nye on just one episode of the show–was the bizarre host of a horror-themed TV program and a hero to Eddie Munster. As luck would have it, Eddie wins a contest that lets him actually meet his small-screen idol. The usual antics ensue–including Herman throwing a jealous fit over his rival, Zombo.

Zombie did not say who is playing the creepy TV host this time around, but he will join Jeff Daniel Phillips (Herman), Sheri Moon Zombie (Lily) and Daniel Roebuck (Grandpa) in the cast–along with Sylvester McCoy, Jorge Garcia, Cassandra Peterson, Richard Brake, Catherine Schell, Dee Wallace, Tomas Boykin, Pat Priest, Jeremy Wheeler, Roderick Hill and Mark Griffith.

The PG-rated remake is expected to hit theaters and perhaps Peacock sometime this fall, but that has yet to be confirmed by Zombie.
