The Internet Gets Scary In New Hulu Horror Film ‘Grimcutty’

by Thomas Tuna

Time to hit the escape key.

Grimcutty–described as a “modern creature feature”–is headed to Hulu this Halloween season, and a trailer and poster have been served up to prepare fans for the weirdness to come. Check out the video–courtesy of Collider–on this page.

The feature–set to debut on Hulu Oct. 10–is written and directed by John William Ross for 20th Digital Studio, and is produced by Dawn Fanning Moore and David Moore.

In the film, a scary internet meme called Grimcutty “stirs up panic among the parents in town, who are convinced it’s making their children harm themselves and others,” according to the synopsis.

But then things get worse when a real-life version of Grimcutty attacks teenager Asha Chaudry (Sara Wolfkind), but her parents believe she is harming herself “as part of a challenge. With her phone taken away and no one to believe her, Asha has to figure out how to get through to her parents–and stop the Grimcutty.”

Joining Wolfkind in the cast are Usman Ally (Veep), Shannyn Sossamon (Sleepy Hollow), Callan Farris (Kings), Alona Tai (SEAL Team) and Kayden Koshalev (Search Party).
