Magic Hands has a summertime date.

The Horror of Dolores Roach–an eight-episode Prime Video series adapted by Blumhouse Television from the Gimlet podcast by Aaron Mark–will air in its entirety July 7. Check out the first-look images from the series on this page.

The show–with Mark as showrunner–is described as a “Sweeney Todd-inspired tale of eat or be eaten.” The cast includes Justina Machado as Roach, Alejandro Hernandez, Kita Updike, K. Todd Freeman, Marc Maron, Jean Yoon, Judy Reyes, Jeffrey Self and Cyndi Lauper.

In the series, “Magic Hands” Dolores Roach returns to her Washington Heights stomping grounds after a 16-year stint in prison. She reunites with her old stoner buddy Luis, who gives her a place to stay and lets her give massages for cash in the basement.

But all this becomes threatened, and Roach is driven to “shocking extremes in order to survive,” according to the synopsis. Meanwhile, she and Luis become “dangerously symbiotic–and Luis must unleash his own peculiar predilections.”
