Home is where–the horror–is.
Lionsgate this week picked up the domestic rights for The Home, the latest horror project from James DeMonaco, the man behind The Purge film franchise, according to a report on Deadline. Look for the film to hit theaters early next year.
The Miramax entry–helmed by DeMonaco from a screenplay he wrote with Adam Canto–follows a graffiti artist named Max (Pete Davidson from Bodies Bodies Bodies), who lands a job in a retirement home–but who soon realizes “the residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets.”
An investigation into the “forbidden fourth floor” leads to “connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.”
In discussing the new film, DeMonaco said his movie “is about older generations dealing with the youth of America. Then, it kicks into heavy horror and some crazy mythology about what these people are and who they are.”
