Lock your windows. Bolt your doors. The Forever Purge is only a week away–and several eye-opening images from the horror event just arrived.

The Forever Purge–planned as the final chapter in the successful franchise–will start the long Independence Day weekend in theaters July 2, as reported by wegotthiscovered.com. And, if the photos on this page are any indication, the terrors of the Purge have just been kicked up a notch…or two.

This film–which continues the storyline of 2016’s The PurgeElection Year–follows a desperate Texas couple as they flee across the border in an attempt to escape a cruel drug cartel. Unfortunately, they encounter a group of Purge lovers who are out for blood.

Franchise creator/writer James DeMonaco said the film’s couple journeys through “intense Purge action” while on the run. He added that the movie will “really frighten and grip audiences, and make them ask and answer some difficult questions–even as they’re entertained and thrilled.”

The Forever Purge–from Blumhouse Productions and Platinum Dunes–is directed by Everardo Gout from a screenplay by DeMonaco. The film stars Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Will Patton, Josh Lucas, Cassidy Freeman and Leven Rambin.

The original 2013 The Purge–written and directed by DeMonaco–is set in a dystopian America that celebrates an annual holiday called the Purge when all crime–including murder–is legal for a 12-hour period. To date, the franchise has earned a whopping $450 million worldwide on a combined budget of just $35 million.
