‘The Devil’s Bath’ Slated For Release This Summer

Is violence the way out?

The Devil’s Bath–a new German-language horror pic–will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival before releasing worldwide this summer, according to a report on Variety. No exact debut date has yet been announced.

The film–acquired for distribution by Shudder–comes from the Austrian writer/director team of Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (Goodnight Mommy), and stars Anja Plaschg, David Scheid, Maria Hofstatter, Camilla Schielin and Lorenz Trobinger.

In the feature–set in the deep forests of 1750 Austria–a religious woman has just married, “but her mind and heart grow heavy as her life becomes a long list of chores and expectations.”

The woman becomes increasingly trapped in “a  murky and lonely path leading to evil thoughts, until the possibility of committing a shocking act of violence seems like the only way out of her turmoil.”
