This looks like a real supernatural beginning.
The Winchesters–the prequel spinoff to the popular Supernatural series that wrapped up in 2020 on The CW–will debut this fall, and a full trailer dropped this week to properly set the mood. Check out the video–courtesy of Deadline–on this page.
The new series–from executive producers Jensen Ackles (who also narrates the show as Dean Winchester) and Robbie Thompson (who also handles the scripting shores)–relates the story of how Sam and Dean’s parents–John and Mary–met, “and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world.”
In The Winchesters, 19-year-old Mary (Meg Donnelly) has been “fighting the forces of evil since she was a child. After losing someone close to her, the hardened hunter considers quitting the family business–until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John (Drake Rodger) force her to lead a new team.”
John–who has recently returned from Vietnam–“finds a new mission back home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter.”
Supernatural–created by Eric Kripke–starred Jared Padalecki as Sam and Jensen Ackles as Dean, the Winchester brothers who hunted demons, ghosts, monsters and other supernatural beings. The show–which ran for 15 seasons and 327 episodes–was nominated for several Primetime Emmy and Saturn Awards.
