‘The Craft’ Getting Remake From Sony

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported today that Sony is remaking it’s cult horror film ‘The Craft’. Leigh Janiak is writing and directing the remake of the 1996 film, with Phil Graziadei co-writing. The pair also co-wrote Janiak’s breakout horror film ‘Honeymoon’.  Doug Wick, one of the producers on the original film, is producing again. Lucy Fisher is also producing.  The original supernatural teen thriller starred Robin Tunney Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Rachel True, and centered around a new girl at a Catholic school who becomes friends with a group of wannabe witches.   When the amateur group of practitioners attempt to use magic to fix personal problems in their life, they come realize that dark forces aren’t something to mess around with.  The original film was directed and co-written by Andrew Fleming.
