‘The Conjuring’ Film Universe Heads To The Small Screen

The time is ripe to conjure up more horror.

The Conjuring film franchise–started back in 2013 by director James Wan and screenwriters Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes–is being continued as a Max TV series by Peter Safran with Warner Bros. Television, according to a report on Deadline.

The series–expected to have Wan as executive producer–reportedly will “continue the story established in the feature films.”

Wan’s Atomic Monster Productions and Safran’s The Safran Company will produce the show in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The Conjuring film series–which will release its next entry, The Nun 2, Sept. 8–has already earned more than $2 billion at the worldwide box office.
