The new feature from 20th Century Studios–directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Mark Heyman–lands in theaters June 2. The PG-13-rated film stars David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland, Vivien Lyra Blair, Madison Hu, Chris Messina and Sophie Thatcher.
In King’s original tale, a man visits a psychiatrist to unload about the bloody murders of his three children at the hands of an evil entity–but the film takes a different approach.
The movie follows high school student Sadie Harper and her kid sister Sawyer who are “reeling from the recent death of their mother, and aren’t getting much support from their father..” A bigger problem arises when a man shows up at their house, bringing with him “a terrifying entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.”
