‘The Boogeyman’ Teaser Brings The Chills Before June Debut

“See. That’s not so scary–is it?”

Earlier this week, new posters dropped for the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s The Boogeyman, and now a dramatic teaser brings the horror home. Check out the video on this page.

Set for a theatrical release June 2, the PG-13-rated pic is directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Mark Heyman–and stars David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland, Vivien Lyra Blair, Madison Hu, Chris Messina and Sophie Thatcher.

The horror master’s original story deals with a man who visits a psychiatrist to talk about the bloody murders of his three children at the hands of an evil entity, but this big-screen take adds a twist or two.

The movie follows high school student Sadie Harper and her kid sister Sawyer “who are reeling from the recent death of their mother, and aren’t getting much support from their father Will–a therapist who is dealing with his own pain.”

Worse yet, when a desperate patient appears at their home, he brings with him “a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.”
