“There’s no such thing as monsters!”

A new trailer for The Boogeyman–the big screen adaptation of the Stephen King short story–arrived this week to pave the way for its June 2 theatrical release. Check out the video on this page.

The PG-13-rated horror pic–directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Mark Heyman–stars David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland, Vivien Lyra Blair, Madison Hu, Chris Messina and Sophie Thatcher.

King’s original tale deals with a man who visits a psychiatrist to discuss the gruesome murders of his three children at the hands of an evil entity, but the new film puts a slightly different twist on the story.

In the movie, a 16-year-old and her kid sister, “still reeling from the death of their mother, are targeted by a supernatural boogeyman after their psychologist father has an encounter with a desperate patient in their house,” according to the synopsis.
