‘The Boogeyman’ Coming To Digital, Blu-Ray, DVD

by Thomas Tuna

There’s no safe room in your house to watch this one.

The Boogeyman–adapted from Stephen King’s classic 1978 short story–raked in nearly $70 million at the box office earlier this year, and now will be available on digital Aug. 29 and on Blu-ray and DVD Oct. 10–in plenty of time for Halloween.

The bonus features of these releases include the Into the Darkness featurette (with interviews with the cast and crew) and several frightening (and light-hearted) outtakes.

The Boogeyman–directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Mark Heyman–stars David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland, Vivien Lyra Blair, Madison Hu, Chris Messina and Sophie Thatcher.

The feature follows high school student Sadie Harper and her kid sister Sawyer, who are trying to recover from the death of their mother with little support from their father.

And things get even worse when a man shows up at their house, bringing with him “a terrifying entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.”
