Going to a remote cabin is almost never a good idea.
The Blackening–which hit theaters a month ago and quickly earned more than it cost to make–will be available for home viewing next month.
The Lionsgate horror-comedy–from director Tim Story and screenwriters Tracy Oliver and Dewayne Perkins–arrives on digital Aug. 15 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD Aug. 22.
The film follows a group of Black friends who reunite during a weekend getaway “only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer.” Before long, they realize–to their dismay–“this isn’t a game.”
The cast includes Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls, Grace Byers, Melvin Gregg, Jermaine Fowler, Yvonne Orji and Jay Pharaoh.
