“I know a big-ass shark when I see one.”
The Black Demon–another mega-shark flick (this one based on a Mexican legend)–rips into theaters in a little more than a month, and a trailer dropped this week to offer a sneak peek at this latest aquatic threat. Check out the video on this page.
The feature–directed by Adrian Grunberg (Rambo: Last Blood) from a screenplay by Boise Esquerra (based on a story by Carlos Cisco)–hits the big screen April 28. Josh Lucas (The Forever Purge) stars alongside Fernanda Urrejola and Julio Cesar Cedillo.
In the film, oilman Paul Sturges (Lucas) takes his family to Bahia Negra, the site of his best oil rig, only to find the Mexican coastal town he once knew has crumbled. Sturges soon learns the offshore platform has awakened what the natives call El Demonio.
That demon turns out to be a massive black shark that has claimed the local waters, aggressively protecting Mother Nature against human threats. Killing everything in its path, the shark attacks the oil rig–stranding Sturges and his family. This can’t end well.
