The Angry Black Girl and her Monster–a modern twist on the classic Mary Shelley novel Frankenstein–will land in theaters (and on-demand and digital) in about a month, and the official poster dropped this week. Check out the eerie image on this page.
The RLJE Films entry–from writer/director Bomani J. Story–hits screens everywhere June 9 with a cast that includes Laya DeLeon Hayes (The Equalizer) as Vicaria and Denzel Whitaker (Black Panther) as Kango.
The feature follows Vicaria “on a desperate quest to cure death.” The brilliant teen is able “to resurrect the corpse of her recently slain brother–but unknowingly creates an unstoppable monster that’s hungry for revenge,” according to the synopsis.
