With the pandemic still casting a pall over the moods of moviegoers, Gomez, Tish and the rest of their kooky clan are covering all bases.
The Addams Family 2–the MGM animated sequel to the hit 2019 film–will release in movie theaters and on premium on-demand in the comfort (and relative safety) of your homes Oct. 1, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This new animated film–directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon from a screenplay by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit–features the voices of Charlize Theron (Morticia), Oscar Isaac (Gomez), Chloe Grace Moretz (Wednesday), Nick Kroll (Uncle Fester), Bette Midler (Grandmama), Javon Walton (Pugsley) and Snoop Dogg (Cousin Itt).
The Addams Family 2 finds Gomez and Morticia trying to strengthen their bond with their children by taking the whole gang in their “haunted camper” on a “miserable family vacation across America.” Yeah, like that’s gonna work out.
The original animated film–based on the classic New Yorker cartoons of Charles Addams–got mixed reviews (good animation, mediocre script), but still performed well at the box office, earning $204 million on a $24-million budget.
