‘Thanksgiving’ Starts Shooting, Adds Another Cast Member

There’s nothing like turkey sandwiches the next day.

Thanksgiving–a new horror pic from Eli Roth based on a mock trailer he produced for 2007’s Grindhouse–is preparing to shoot in Toronto, and another cast member has joined the team, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Milo Manheim (Disney’s Zombies franchise) this week signed on for the feature that already has Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Addison Rae and Patrick Dempsey on board. Casting is expected to continue.

The Spyglass Media Group film–which doesn’t have a release window yet–is being directed by Roth from a screenplay by Jeff Rendell. Roth and Roger Birnbaum are producing the pic.

Roth’s 16-year-old mock trailer–part of the Grindhouse double-feature from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez–deals with a “a pseudo movie in which a slasher makes his own carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town.” Roth gets into the on-screen mayhem, too–by being separated from his head in one gory scene.
