Thanksgiving–the horror pic from Eli Roth based on his mock trailer from 2007’s Grindhouse double-feature–is shooting in Toronto, and a release date of Nov. 17 was announced today by Deadline.

The TriStar Pictures and Spyglass Media feature–directed by Roth from a screenplay by Jeff Rendell–is produced by Roth and Roger Birnbaum, with Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre and Kate Harrison serving as executive producers.

The film stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Neil Verlaque, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Milo Manheim, Gina Gershon, Rick Hoffman and comedian Tim Dillon.

Plot details have not been revealed, but the original trailer deals with a pseudo movie in which a slasher “makes his own carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town.” Roth also appeared in this trailer–literally losing his head in a particularly bloody scene.
