Art the Clown is planning a Halloween return–how fitting.
Terrifier 2–the long-delayed sequel to the surprising 2016 hit horror flick–will slash its way into theaters this Halloween (stay tuned for an exact date), according to a report on Deadline.
The “ultra-gory” slasher–written and directed by Damien Leone (who helmed the original film)–finds Art returning to Miles County, after being resurrected by a sinister entity, “where he must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night,” according to the logline.
The sequel stars David Howard Thornton (reprising his role as Art the Clown), Lauren LaVera, Samantha Scaffidi, Elliott Fullam, Sarah Voigt, Kailey Hyman, Casey Hartnett and Felissa Rose.
Leone said his goal with this sequel was to “create a horror film that was boundary-pushing and fresh, yet old-school and demented. We’re thrilled to finally answer that question: ‘So, when does Terrifier 2 come out?’.”
The original Terrifier–which starred Thornton, Scaffidi and Jenna Kanell–followed Art the Clown’s murderous rampage through a decrepit apartment building on another Halloween night.
