He said he’d be back.
DarkSide Collectibles Studio has unveiled an impressive Terminator 2: Judgment Day T-800 statue to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the horror-s/f classic. Check out the photos of the collectible–courtesy of news.toyark.com–on this page.
The 1/3-scale polystone statue stands 27 inches tall and is available in a standard Collector Edition and an Ultimate Edition (that includes swap-out portraits, interchangeable arms, swap-out weapons and an ammo belt).
To complete the movie-accurate feel, a themed base features the gold box and roses from the first shootout scene against the T-1000.
Start saving your pennies now, though–the Collector Edition is priced at $1,600, with the Ultimate Edition going for a cool $2,000. Both statues are available for pre-order now for a scheduled release in the fourth quarter of the year.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day–directed by James Cameron from a screenplay he wrote with William Wisher–stars (of course) Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Robert Patrick.
The storyline of the sequel to 1984’s The Terminator has Skynet send a Terminator back in time to 1995 to kill the future leader of the human resistance, John Connor, when he was a child. In turn, the resistance sends back a less-advanced, reprogrammed Terminator to protect Connor and ensure the future of humanity.
The sequel was a success on all levels–praised by critics (winning Saturn and Academy Awards) and raking in $520 million on its $100-million budget. The film spawned even more sequels, tons of merchandise, video games, comic books and novels.
