“Now–for the first time–I understand real fear.”
One day after a touching poster was unveiled for Season 3 of The Witcher–the last season for star Henry Cavill to play Geralt of Rivia–a teaser has dropped to give fans a taste of the monster-hunting action to come on Netflix this summer. Check out the video on this page.
A synopsis for Season 3 has yet to be revealed, but the teaser offers a glimpse of the Wild Hunt–the convoy of spectral riders pursuing Ciri (Freya Allan) on horseback. The Wild Hunt is mentioned in the Andrzej Saphowski’s second book–The Sword of Destiny–and, in the Netflix adaptation, it pursues Ciri after sensing the true power of her Elder Blood–which they want for themselves.
The upcoming season will be split into two parts: Volume 1 (five episodes) will stream June 29, and Volume 2 (the last three episodes) will air July 27.
The first two seasons have told the story of the intertwined destinies of Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) in the vast world of The Continent–where elves, gnomes, monsters and Witchers battle to survive and thrive.
The show has already been renewed for Season 4, starring Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games franchise) as Geralt.
