Teaser Photo Surfaces From Next Year’s ‘Terrifier’ Sequel

Send in the clowns–well, at least one. Art the Clown–the main reason horror fans are looking forward to Terrifier 2.

Damien Leone–the writer/director of the sequel to 2016’s Terrifier slasher hit–this week came oh-so-close to announcing the movie has wrapped and was ready for the public, as reported by comicbook.com. Close, but not quite there yet. But, as the new photo on this page shows, the terrors should be worth waiting for.

The sequel–which does not yet have an exact release date–is definitely moving toward the finish line. “We are now officially editing Terrifier 2,” Leone wrote on his Facebook account. “I don’t like to say we have ‘officially wrapped’ because there will be an inevitable one or two days of pick-up shots and inserts needed once we have a rough cut of the film assembled. But the hard work is done and we essentially have the entire film in the can.”

When the movie is completely edited and color-corrected–in about two or three months–Leone said they will start to shop the film to potential distributors.

Leone said he was very pleased with the way the horror comes through on the screen in this film. “As a diehard horror fan, I can assure you we put our hearts and souls into making this the most intense, graphic and generous bloodbath,” he said. “And as far as I know, we’ve succeeded in creating something memorable.”

Terrifier 2–starring David Howard Thornton (reprising his role as Art the Clown), Lauren Lavera, Elliott Fullam, Sarah Voigt, Kailey Hyman and Casey Hartnett–follows Art, after he is resurrected by a “sinister entity,” as he returns to Miles County to “hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night. Pray you don’t get in his way.”

The original Terrifier–starring Thornton, Jenna Kanell and Samantha Scaffidi–told the story of Art the Clown’s murderous rampage through a decrepit apartment building on another Halloween night.
