The undead have more tales to tell this summer.
Tales of the Walking Dead–the upcoming anthology spinoff of AMC’s long-running zombie series–will debut sometime this summer, and a very brief teaser was released to give fans a few crumbs to nibble on. Check out the short video–courtesy of JoBlo.com–on this page.
The six-episode first season–led by showrunner Channing Powell and executive producer Scott M. Gimple–is described as an “episodic anthology of six original, standalone stories focused on both new and established characters within the Walker apocalypse.”
The directors include series producer Michael Satrazemis (three episodes) and Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier and Tara Nicole Weyr (one episode each).
The previously announced actors in the series include Terry Crews, Parker Posey, Poppy Liu, Anthony Edwards, Jillian Bell, Daniella Pineda, Olivia Munn, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davidtz, Jessie T. Usher and Gage Munroe.
These actors, Gimple said, “will bring new worlds of TWD to life with big, different, shocking and scary stories.” The series, he explained, will feature different themes. “Some weeks, about horror,” he said. “Some weeks, black comedy. Different time periods in the apocalypse.”
