Freedom can be a scary thing.

The Aviary–a new cult horror entry from Saban Films–hits theaters, digital and on-demand next Friday, April 29, and a new clip was released this week to get a jump on the chills to come. Check out the video and poster–courtesy of JoBlo.com–on this page.

The film–from first-time writers and directors Chris Cullari and Jennifer Raite–follows the travails of two woman as they try to flee from an evil cult known as Skylight. “Lured in by the promise of freedom in the isolated desert campus called The Aviary, Jillian and Blair join forces to escape in the hope of real freedom,” according to the synopsis.

But they can’t shake the feeling they are being followed by cult leader Seth. The more distance they gain from the cult, the more Seth controls their minds.

With hope slipping away, the women “are faced with a horrifying question: How do you run from an enemy who loves inside your head?”

The Aviary–produced by Pacesetter Productions and CatchLight Studio–stars Lorenza Izzo (The Green Inferno), Malin Akerman (Watchmen), Chris Messina (Devil) and Sandrine Holt (Fear the Walking Dead).
