“What a wonderful day!”
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes–the next Apes installment–wrapped production in Australia several months ago, and now the first teaser trailer has finally dropped. Check out the video on this page.
The feature–directed by Wes Ball from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Patrick Aison, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver–serves as a sequel to 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.
The cast includes Owen Teague, Dichen Lachman, Freya Allen, Peter Macon, Eka Darville, Kevin Durand, Travis Jeffery, Neil Sandilands, Sam Wiseman, Lydia Peckham, Ras- Samuel Weld and William H. Macy.
In the film, many ape societies “have grown from when Caesar brought his people to an oasis–while humans have been reduced to a feral-like existence.”
Adding to these developments, one ape leader starts enslaving some groups to find human technology, while another simian starts a trek to freedom. In the midst of this, a young human woman “becomes key to the latter’s quest–although she has plans of her own.”
