Tawny Kitaen Passes Away at 59

by Rob Caprilozzi

Shocking news to report this afternoon as Deadline says that actress Tawny Kitean has passed away at the age of 59. Kitean rose to fame in the 1984 film Bachelor Party and was soon all over the airwaves thanks to music videos. She can he seen in several music videos including Back for More from Ratt and numerous Whitesnake videos including Here I Go Again, Is this Love, and Still of the Night.

Kitean landed a lead role of Linda Brewster in the 1986 horror film Witchboard. The movie follows Jim and Linda who decide to throw a party, Linda’s ex-boyfriend — and Jim’s ex-friend — Brandon brings out a Ouija board to contact a pleasant, childish spirit named David with whom he communicates often. Apparently, the lines get crossed, because they instead reach across the supernatural divide to the decidedly less pleasant Malfeitor, who uses his connection to the world of the living to wreak havoc and terrify his new acquaintances. The film was made on a budget of $2 million and pulled in $7.4 million at the box office.

Kitean has also appeared in Moms Anonymous, CSI, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, EEK! The Cat, Married…with Children, and The New WKRP in Cincinnati.

The staff of Horror News Network extends its condolences to Kitean’s fans, colleagues, friends and family.
