Horror fans talked about it.

Talk To Me–the latest A24 horror entry–enjoyed an unexpectedly strong box office performance in its first weekend, coming in sixth in the domestic race, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–hitting big screens in 2,300 domestic theaters–pulled down more than $10 million for the weekend, and earned an impressive B+ Cinemascore.

Starring Sophia Wilde, Joe Bird, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji and Miranda Otto, the move is directed by twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, and deals with the party craze of trying to conjure up spirits.

In the film, when a teenager and her friends get together for a seance with a mysterious, embalmed hand, “they’re unprepared for the consequences of bending the rules through prolonged contact.”
