It’s not wise to mess with the spirit world.
Talk To Me–a new horror entry from A24 that debuted at Sundance earlier this year–is set for a theatrical release this summer, and the first trailer dropped this week. Check out the video on this page.
The feature–landing in theaters July 28–is directed by twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou from a screenplay by Danny and Bill Hinzman. Kristina Ceyton and Samantha Jennings of Causeway Films (The Babadook) produced the film.
Talk To Me explores the party game craze of trying to conjure up spirits, and teenager Mia (Sophia Wilde) is “looking for a distraction on the anniversary of her mother’s death and wants to get a piece of the otherworldly action,” according to the synopsis.
When Mia and her friends gather for a seance with “a mysterious, embalmed hand that promises a direct line to the spirits, they’re unprepared for the consequences of bending the rules through prolonged contact.”
And, as boundaries between worlds collapse, “disturbing supernatural visions haunt Mia–and she rushes to undo the horrific damage before it’s irreversible.”
Joining Wilde in the cast are Joe Bird (Rabbit), Alexandra Jensen (Frayed), Otis Dhanji (Aquaman) and Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings franchise).
