The dead will continue to shamble onto AMC next month.

Tales of the Walking Dead–the fourth series in the AMC zombie franchise that started with The Walking Dead–debuts Aug. 14, and the first full trailer dropped this weekend. Check out the new horrors just over the horizon in the video–courtesy of Deadline–on this page.

The new six-part episodic anthology–from showrunner Channing Powell and executive producer Scott M. Gimple–will feature one-hour standalone episodes focusing on new and established characters within the Walker apocalypse. Gimple said fans should expect “shocking and scary stories, and different time periods in the apocalypse.”

The stakes are high in each story, according to the logline, “pushing the characters with life-threatening choices and situations” as fans get to see the apocalypse “through different eyes–discovering more worlds, mythos and mysteries of the walking dead.”

Each episode will have its own writer–with two of the confirmed screenwriters being Ahmadu Garba (the Netflix Resident Evil series) and Powell (The Walking Dead). Producer Michael Satrazemis will direct three episodes, with Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier and Tara Nicole Weyr helming one show each.

The cast includes Terry Crews, Parker Posey, Poppy Liu, Anthony Edwards, Jillian Bell, Daniella Pineda, Olivia Munn, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davidtz, Jessie T. Usher and Gage Munroe.
