Is this the pearl of great price?
It’s been quite a year for filmmaker Ti West. His horror pic X was a hit with fans and critics, and then his prequel, Pearl, was met with equal acclaim. On top of all that, the third film in the trilogy, MaXXXine, will follow Maxine after the events of X, as “the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.”
In addition, a new featurette dropped this week that highlights Tandi Wright, who plays Pearl’s overbearing mother. Check out the video that reveals Wright’s reactions to the script, as well as her experiences making the film.
And fans can now watch Pearl in the comfort of their own home, as a Blu-ray edition is now available that includes the Time After Time featurette, the Coming Out Of Her Shell: The Creation of Pearl feature and the theatrical and teaser trailers.
Pearl, the prequel to X, follows Pearl (Mia Goth), who survives the 1918 flu epidemic while living on an isolated farm with her German immigrant parents. But things take a turn for the macabre when she finds those around her impeding her path to the glamorous life she wants.
