Take A Look At Naomi Watts In Thriller ‘Goodnight Mommy’

That’s a face only a mother could love.

Goodnight Mommy–the remake of the 2014 Austrian indie horror hit–will hit Amazon Prime Video next month, and several images dropped this week to set the proper mood.

Check out the first-look photos on this page–courtesy of People–that show star Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive) in character, her face hidden beneath bandages.

The remake–debuting on Amazon Prime Video Sept. 16–draws from the original, in which a mother returns home after a medical procedure with a mysterious look and a distinct change in behavior. And with this change comes doubt, paranoia and fear creeping into her twin sons–played by Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti (Big Little Lies).

The new film is directed by Matt Sobel (Brand New Cherry Flavor) from a screenplay by Kyle Warren (the Lethal Weapon TV series).

In discussing the remake, Sobel told People he “saw an opportunity to preserve this unique mixture (tantalizing mystery and thrills with rich and resonate emotion), while injecting a completely new set of themes we wanted to explore. The original is more interested in tone and aesthetic, while our reimagining favors character and psychology.”
