Jordan Peele Takes the Super Bowl into ‘The Twilight Zone’

In case you missed it during the Super Bowl, or just have no interest in football, Jordan Peele popped in to give the public a tease of his reboot of the classic The Twilight Zone series. Peele appears on the back drop of an empty Super Bowl giving fans just a small taste of him as the host of the series.   Not much else was revealed about the show, except a hint of that iconic Twilight Zone theme song in the background.

Peele, along with his production company, Monkeypaw, has been immersed in several projects ever since the explosive success of his directorial film debut, Get Out in 2017. Besides the upcoming reboot, Peele’s highly anticipated feature, Us, is due out in March, and casting has already begun on another Peele project, the reimagining of CandymanThe Twilight Zone is set to premiere on April 1st, streaming on CBS All access. read more

Release Date for ‘Twilight Zone’ Reboot

Twilight Zone fans of the world, celebrate! Deadline has reported that on Monday, April 1st, the Jordan Peele hosted reboot of the classic sci-fi show will premiere with two episodes on CBS All Access and then new episodes will be available weekly on Thursdays starting April 11th for CBS All Access subscribers.

The series will be a modern re-imagining of  the Rod Serling original which aired 1959-1964. As mentioned above, Jordan Peele will be taking on the Rod Serling role of narrator and host and confirmed actors for the series include Ike Barinholtz, John Cho, Lucinda Dryzek, Taissa Farmiga, Greg Kinnear, Luke Kirby, Sanaa Lathan, Kumail Nanjiani, Adam Scott, Rhea Seehorn, Allison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Jefferson White, Jonathan Whitesell, Jessica Williams, DeWanda Wise and Steven Yeun. read more

Dick Miller Passes Away at 90

We have sad news to report as longtime character actor Dick Miller passed away Wednesday in Toluca Lake, California at the age of 90.  Miller was the subject of the 1999 documentary which surveyed his acting career, That Guy Dick Miller.

Miller was a mainstay in many of Roger Corman’s films throughout his career including It Conquered the World, Not of This Earth, The Undead, A Bucket of Blood, The Little Shop of Horrors, and The Terror.

Later in his career Miller would appear in Piranha, The Howling, Twilight Zone: The Movie, Gremlins, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, The Terminator, Chopping Mall, Night of the Creeps, and Demon Knight. read more

‘The Twilight Zone’ Reboot Enters Production

On the heels of last week’s announcement that Jordan Peele will be taking Rod Serling’s narration role in the upcoming The Twilight Zone series, Deadline reports that the reboot has entered production in Vancouver, British Columbia.  CBS All Access released the below video not only promoting the newly reimagined series, but also celebrating the 59th anniversary of the iconic series, which premiered October 2, 1959.

Produced by Peele, along with Simon Kinberg, The Twilight Zone is slated for release in sometime in 2019. Although the buzz around the show is high, not many other details have been revealed on this reimagining of the classic anthology series.  Horror News Network will keep you up to date as details become available. read more

Jordan Peele Steps into ‘The Twilight Zone’

Currently one of the hottest commodities in Hollywood right now, recent Academy Award winner, Jordan Peele, has been confirmed to host and narrate the CBS All Access reboot of genre classic The Twilight Zone, according to Deadline.

Peele, who also serves as Executive Producer, spoke about The Twilight Zone’s legendary creator, “Rod Sterling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours.” The revamped version of The Twilight Zone will be produced by CBS Televisions Studios in association with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films. read more

‘Twilight Zone’ Reboot in the Works at CBS

According to Deadline, a Twilight Zone reboot is in the works at CBS. Announced by CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves at the company’s earnings call on Thursday, the legendary TV series will appear on the networks streaming service CBS All Access.

What makes this even more interesting is the rumors that Twilight Zone is coming from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw production company. Earlier in the year Peele’s directorial debut, Get Out was a box office success raking in over $253 million. The film currently has a 99% “Certified Fresh” rating on aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. read more
