Horror icon Bruce Campbell returns to the small screen as a host and executive producer for Travel Channel’s reboot of “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” Campbell clearly has a passion for the project and deep respect for what Ripley had done to shed light on the unusual and extraordinary. Times have changed since the original airing of the show and at a press conference after the panel Horror News Network had the opportunity to ask Campbell how he thought the show would compete with readily available content on the internet and whether the original show was revisited. Hail to the king, baby! It looks as if we won’t have to wait long to see Bruce Campbell on our TV screens once again. Deadline is reporting that Campbell is set to host and executive produce a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! reboot on the Travel Channel. Early reports indicate that the network has ordered 10 one-hour episodes of the series.
On Halloween of 2015, Campbell returned to the role that made him famous, the shotgun-wielding, wisecracking Ash Williams of the beloved Evil Dead franchise in a series properly titled, Ash vs. Evil Dead, which quickly became a fan favorite and the perfect addition to the movie trilogy and acted as a sequel to those films. The series costarred Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, and Lucy Lawless with original “Lady of the Evil Dead,” Ellen Sandweiss even made a surprise appearance, reprising her role as Cheryl Williams. Sadly, on April 20, 2018 Starz announced that they had cancelled Ash vs. Evil Dead after three seasons. read more
