‘Color Out of Space’ Trailer Hits Internet like Alien Meteorite

Color Out of Space is just about ready to land on earth! We reported in January that Nicolas Cage would be reuniting with the producers of Mandy for a film based on the H.P. Lovecraft classic short story, The Colour Out of Space, but news on the project had gone silent over the past few months. Apparently it was time well spent, because RLJE Films just released a brand new trailer for the movie that’s bursting at the seams with psychedelic color and dastardly creatures!

Nicolas Cage to Reunite with ‘Mandy’ Producers for H.P. Lovecraft’s ‘Color Out of Space’

Nicolas Cage and the folks at SpectreVision had a relative hit on their hands with 2018’s psychedelic horror experiment, Mandy; and now that Cage has a taste for blood, he’s re-teaming with the production company for a film based on H.P. Lovecraft’s short story, “The Colour Out of Space.” The title of the film version has been modernized to Color Out of Space.

Variety reports that Cage will star in the film alongside Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard, and Q’Orianka Kilcher. Richard Stanley will direct the movie. Shudder Becomes Exclusive Streaming Home of ‘Mandy’

Shudder announced today that they have become the exclusive streaming home for Mandy.  The film has received generally positive reviews and currently holds a 94% rating on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

Mandy tells the tale of Red Miller and Mandy Bloom as their peaceful life is shattered by a sadistic cult. Nicolas Cage stars in the visually pleasing film directed by Panos Cosmatos.

Nic Cage Channels Inner-‘Jason’ for Role in New Film ‘Mandy’

Cinematic horror icon Jason Vorhees is about to GET IN THE CAGE!  According to a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Oscar-winning thespian Nicolas Cage admits that he based his character from the upcoming film Mandy on the legendary (and impossible-to-kill) campground slasher.  It is not yet known if the producers of the Friday the 13th franchise are flattered or enraged by the actor’s revelation.

Cage will play a lumberjack named Red in the revenge thriller, which is due out on September 14th.  A mild-mannered every-man for the first half of the film, Red turns into a homicidal vigilante in the second half when his remote cabin is the scene of a home invasion which sees his lover (Mandy) fall victim to the violence.  Red blazes a path of vengeance amped-up by a liquid hallucinogen as he hunts down his tormentors.  It’s well-worn territory (Crank, Death Sentence, the entire Death Wish series), but Cage’s indication that he’s channeling his inner-psycho for the role adds a nicely-textured layer of horror and the supernatural to the entire equation. read more

‘Mandy’ Gets First Trailer

Mandy, one of the most shocking selections of the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, has released its first trailer.

Directed and written by Panos Cosmatos with co-writer Aaron Stewart-Ahn, Mandy is one of the last films scored by Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson who died on February 9, 2018 due to unknown causes.

The film stars Nicolas Cage, known for his 1995 Oscar-winning performance in Leaving Las Vegas and other supernatural roles such as Ghost Rider and Drive Angry. Andrea Riseborough, known for her performances in Oblivion, Birdman and TV’s Waco, plays the titular character Mandy. read more
