Freeform Greenlights Stephen King’s ‘Joyland’
Things are about to get a bit scarier on Freeform. According to Deadline the Disney-ABC owned channel has launched Stephen King’s Joyland into development. Chris Pena and Cyrus Nowrasteh are signed on to pen the pilot with Bill Haber’s Ostar Productions serving as producer.
Joyland tells the story of a college student who lands a summer job as a carnival worker. What starts as a fun job at a North Carolina amusement park turns into a battle for survival as he comes face to face with a murderer.
