Direct Night of the Living Dead Sequel to Come from Original Creative Team

Fifty years ago the world of horror and cinema as a whole was changed forever with the release of Night of the Living Dead. Now a direct sequel is in the works from the creative team who brought the un-dead to life.

According to a recent interview, original NotLD scribes, the late George A. Romero and John A. Russo wrote a direct sequel to the 1968 original which has now been unearthed by Living Dead Media, an entertainment web site dedicated to the series.

The script, after having not been produced for many years, is being planned to release theaters next year with the original surviving writers and producers at the helm. read more

Shudder’s ‘Creepshow’ Series Gets New Poster Ahead of Release

Creepshow returns in 2019 set to debut on Shudder and continues from the original 1982 film created by Stephen King and the late George A. Romero. The series’ new poster has made its first appearance online via Entertainment Weekly, which is a tribute to classic horror comics from the 1940’s and 50’s.

This coming weekend at NY Comic Con, Shudder plans to give guests an exclusive sneak peak at the much anticipated reboot of Creepshow.

The series’ new poster was designed by artist Tim Bradstreet, who’s known for his work on The Punisher comics, with assistance from the show’s executive producer and director Greg Nicotero, who is a horror effects icon to boot and also is one of the masterminds behind AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead. read more

Night of the Living Dead – Restored and Presented in 4K

This November the Museum of Modern Art in New York City has announced that they will be screening a 4k digital restoration of George A. Romero’s groundbreaking film Night of the Living Dead as a part of its annual “To Save and Project” film festival. Per the press release, the “To Save and Project” festival showcases the best new restorations of masterworks and rediscoveries of world cinema.

The film was restored by The Museum of Modern Art and The Film Foundation with funding provided by the George Lucas Family Foundation. The restoration was overseen by George A. Romero along with Image Ten alum Gary Streiner, Russ Streiner and John Russo. read more

George A. Romero Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Godfather of Zombies, George A. Romero, will finally receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

The official announcement came today via a live stream from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the Walk of Fame. Those who attended the Texas Frightmare Weekend 2015 event will remember our fundraising efforts. Chris Roe Management spearheaded and led the fundraising efforts at Texas Frightmare Weekend. TFW was more than willing to lend a hand to Chris for the iconic director. The majority of the money raised to fund the effort to get Romero’s Star was raised right here at Texas Frightmare Weekend. A massive memorabilia auction and screenings of the 1978 classic Dawn of the Dead at the Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas contributed to the cause. read more
