Netflix Sets Release Date for ‘Castlevania’ Season 3

There is no stopping Count Dracula, or movies and television series being made about him either, especially with Netflix’s animated series Castlevania entering its third season set to start streaming on March 5, according to series director Samuel Deats.

The 10-episode third season’s release date was posted via his Twitter page today, see it here:

BBC One’s ‘Dracula’ Gets Premier Date

Reported today via Deadline, the co-production of BBC One and Netflix Dracula the mini-series has received a premier date for January 1, 2020, letting BBC One viewers spend New Years Day with the Count!

Although the worldwide release on Netflix is unknown at this time, Dracula will run as a three-part mini-series with one episode a night for consecutive nights on BBC One.

R.M. Renfield Feature Gets Director at Universal

Coming in from Variety, Dracula’s henchman Renfield will be getting a feature film at Universal Pictures set to be directed by Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman) with an original story by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead comics).

Although Universal’s “Dark Universe” has as of late been filmmaker driven stand-alone features instead of a shared franchise, Renfield is the latest addition following 2017’s The Mummy and The Invisible Man that is set for release on February 28, 2020. read more

BBC Releases First Teaser of ‘Dracula’ Mini-Series

As Count Dracula is continuously returning to life, so to are the adaptations of the original Bram Stoker novel. Today the British Broadcasting Corporation has released the first teaser for the new Dracula mini-series set to star Claes Bang as the Prince of Darkness himself set in 1897 Transylvania and Victorian-era London.

Dracula will be aired as three 90-minute parts and follows a long line of British adaptations of the novel, especially the iconic Hammer Horror film series that starred the late and legendary Christopher Lee as the title character, Peter Cushing as Doctor Van Helsing and Michael Gough as Athur Holmwood. read more

IDW Brings ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ By Mike Mignola Back to Life

According to the official press release, IDW Publishing will unearth Mike Mignola’s adaptation of 1992’s Francis Ford Coppola film Bram Stoker’s Dracula right before the Halloween season begins on September 25.  The 136 page hard cover collection features Mignola’s signature black and white artwork with a script by Marvel Comics legend Roy Thomas.

Mignola was ecstatic about the reissue, stating that ““I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have this book back in print.  People have been asking about this one for ages—More than any other book of mine—and I honestly didn’t think it was ever going to be possible to see an edition, but here it is.” read more
