Discovery Channel Unveils Shark Week 2018’s Programming and Daily Schedule

Although it is probably hard to believe for those of us who grew up watching Shark Week before it was time to go back to school in the fall, this year will mark the 30th Anniversary of the week long shark extravaganza.   2018’s Shark Week will premiere on  Sunday July 22 at 7:00 P.M. and continue through Sunday, July 29, and according to the official press release “…will feature the most hours of shark programming ever on Discovery Channel with over twenty hours of celebrity surprises and jaws-dropping shark stories.” read more

Halloween ComicFest 2018 Comic Titles and Eric Powell T-Shirt Design Revealed

Sad that Free Comic Book Day is almost a year away?  Do you love comic books and Halloween in equal parts?  Turn that frown upside down and get out your vintage Ben Cooper Hulk mask, because the titles and t-shirt design for the Halloween ComicFest have been revealed!   This year will mark the eighth anniversary for Halloween ComicFest (HCF) and the event will feature 34 free comic book titles.  The event will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at participating comic stores across the nation. read more

Universal Studios Orlando Announces ‘Trick ‘r Treat’ for Halloween Horror Nights 2018

Universal Studios Orlando has just announced that Michael Dougherty’s fan favorite Halloween anthology Trick ‘r Treat will be featured as one of their scare house attractions this season.  Trick ‘r Treat was featured last year as a scare zone, but this is the first time that the property will get the full house treatment.

Trick ‘r Treat will be joining the already announced Stranger Things and Universal’s original Dead Exposure: Patient Zero houses. Halloween Horror Nights will begin on September 14 and run through November 3. read more

Horror News Network’s Summer 2018 Horror Movie Preview

In recent years, studios have loaded up their summer release schedules with a wide range of horror films.  This was never more apparent than in 2016 when Lights Out, Don’t Breathe, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Purge: Election Year,  and the Conjuring 2 made large sums of cash (for the most part on austere budgets) and helped to shore up an otherwise lackluster summer for movies.  2017’s list of summer horror films were not as notable, with the two exceptions being the surprise hit  47 Meters Down and the prequel Annabelle Creation. read more
