Syfy Presents ‘Sharknado’ Marathon Tomorrow

by Thomas Tuna

Is the world ready for this?

As hard as it may be to believe. the horror/comedy/disaster mash-up Sharknado debuted a decade ago, and Syfy will mark that occasion with a marathon of the franchise.

The finny films will kick off tomorrow, July 18 at noon with Sharknado: the 4th Awakens–followed by Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! at 2 p.m.; Sharknado 2 : The Second One at 4 p.m.; and the original Sharknado at 6 p.m.

Syfy then replays Sharknado 2 (8 p.m.), Sharknado 3 (10 p.m.) and Sharknado 4 (midnight), before showing Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2 a.m.) and The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time (4 a.m.).

The original 2013 made-for-TV cult classic–directed by Anthony C. Ferrante–deals with a waterspout that somehow lifts sharks out of the ocean and drops them in Los Angeles (like that city doesn’t have enough problems).

Starring Tara Reid, Ian Ziering and John Heard, Sharknado debuted on Syfy in July 2013, and was also given a one-night-only midnight theatrical showing–which raked in $200,000 from 200 screenings.
