Syfy Fleshes Out Cast For New Horror Series ‘The Surrealtor’

by Thomas Tuna

The Surrealtor–a new horror series slated for Syfy–is ramping up to start production next month by adding several cast members.

The upcoming 10-episode first season, a project of Blue Ice Pictures, is expected to begin production Sept. 15 in Newfoundland, Canada, as reported by Deadline.

The series, according to the official synopsis, deals with realtor Nick Roman “and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can–haunted and possessed houses that literally scare away would-be buyers.”

The team researches, investigates and fixes these strange occurrences, working to “create closure–and closings–even as they struggle with demons of their own.”

Developed for television by George Olson–who also will serve as showrunner–The Surrealtor has Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Armand Leo and Danishka Esterhazy as executive producers.

The show’s regular cast members announced this week include Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, Savannah Basley and Tennille Read.

On the show, Nick Roman (played by Rozon) owns The Roman Agency, a company that specializes in “metaphysically encased” properties. Susan Ireland (Levy) is a successful realtor who doesn’t believe in ghosts or hauntings.

Fr. Phil Orley (Korson) is a research scientist at The Roman Agency, and August Ripley (Wint) is a technology specialist who creates devices that can detect ghosts and sometimes rid houses of these eerie trespassers.

Zooey L’Enfant (Basley) acts as the agency’s office manager, and Megan Donovan (Read) is a medical student who inherits a house from her grandfather–a house she (of course) wants to sell.

There is no word yet on when the series will hit the airwaves, so keep reading Horror News Network for updates on the shooting schedule and any cast additions for The Surrealtor on Netflix.
