Where were you before the world turned upside-down?

Horror fans are still waiting for a debut date for the fifth and final season of the Netflix phenomenon Stranger Things, but a stage adaptation of the show will hit the boards before the end of the year. Of course, you’ll have to get to London to see it.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a live stage show–planned for the Phoenix Theatre in London–that reportedly will be set in Hawkins in 1959, and will act as a prequel to the hit horror-fantasy series. Check out the post from the stage show’s Twitter account on this page.

The show–based on an original story from series creators Matt and Ross Duffer–was written Jack Thorne and Kate Trefry, and will be directed by Stephen Daldry.

The show–according to the synopsis–will deal with Hawkins, “a regular town with regular worries, but when new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy–and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.”

This new adventure will take fans “back to the beginning of the Stranger Things story–and may hold the key to the end.”
