‘Stranger Things’ Star Working On New Horror-Comedy

Well, he should know a thing or two about strange.

Finn Wolfhard–best known to horror fans for his role as Mike Wheeler in Netflix’ Stranger Things–is collaborating (both in front of and behind the cameras) with fellow genre actor and producer Billy Bryk on the new horror-comedy Hell of a Summer for 30West, according to a report on Deadline.

Bryk (who appeared with Wolfhard in the recent Ghostbusters: Afterlife) has co-written the screenplay and will co-direct and star with the Stranger Things actor. Fred Hechinger (The White Lotus) also will star in and produce the film alongside Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and Jay Van Hoy.

Details of the film’s plot are being kept secret at this point in time, but production will start in Ontario, Canada later this month. So stay tuned for some sort of logline before long.

Wolfhard–who made his directorial debut with the short film Night Shifts–said he is “so excited to be co-directing my first feature film. I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with 30West is a real dream.”
