The final “strange” chapters are being mapped out.
The fifth (and final) season of the Netflix phenomenon Stranger Things will run for eight episodes, according to a recent tweet from the show’s writers’ room. Check out the Twitter post–courtesy of CBR–on this page.

The episodes of the fifth season–which does not yet have a debut date–will have more conventional run times, according to series creators Matt and Ross Duffer. “I don’t think the run times will be as extreme in Season 5,” Matt Duffer said. One episode in the recently completed fourth season ran for two hours and 30 minutes.
“We’re trying to return to the simplicity of the structure of Season 1,” Duffer added, “with bigger scale and scope–except for the finale, which I’m expecting will be pretty massive.”
Another element of Season 5, Duffer explained, will be the absence of new characters. “We’re doing our best to resist (adding new characters) for Season 5,” he said. “We’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters.”
